This is the image for the news article titled Broome High students earn AP honorsTen Broome High School students have earned Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar recognition for exceptional achievement on AP exams. 

Six students earned AP Scholar recognition, three earned the AP Scholar with Honor award and one earned the AP Scholar with Distinction honor. 

The College Board’s AP Program provides motivated and academically prepared students the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school.  Students may earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams. 

The AP Scholar Awards recognize high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through AP courses and exams.

Brian Linder has been recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction. For this honor, students must earn an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. Brian began his collegiate career this fall at Duke University.

Megan Chance, Chase Hunter and Victoria Millwood qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award.  Students must earn an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.  

Qualifying for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher were Summer Baxter, Anna Marie Fowler, Lilyann Kanipe, Owen Keller, Janis Parker and Carolyn Ridlehuber.
