We're located at 451 Heritage Hills Drive in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Clifdale Middle will serve students in Clifton, Cowpens, Converse, Glendale, Pacolet and White Stone communities. Please email Deputy Superintendent Rodney Goode if you're interested in becoming a Clifdale Centurion but live outside of our jurisdiction.

Gene Machine

Gene Machine to Visit Clifdale!

The Greenwood Genetic Center’s Gene Machine will be visiting Clifdale Middle School on Wednesday, April 26th. The Gene Machine is a 40-foot mobile science laboratory that provides innovative hands-on lab activities for students along with career exploration in the field of genetics. The mobile lab has been providing outreach educational opportunities for students across SC since 2010. More +

Child Identification Kits

In 2022, the South Carolina General Assembly unanimously passed S.1103, otherwise known as the South Carolina Child ID law. As a result, Spartanburg School District Three has been given at-home child ID kits that are available for each student. You may pick up a kit for your child(ren) at the school's front office. MBK Service Project

Our MBK group led an effort to collect pasta for the Blessings in a Backpack Program. Clifdale students collected over 4,000 pasta items that will be sent home for weekend meals for students. Mrs. Epps' homeroom won the challenge and collected the most items. More +

Clifdale Junior Scholars Named by SCDE

Congratulations to all of our South Carolina Junior Scholars for this year. To qualify, these eighth graders scored a 550 or above on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section of the PSAT/NMSQT or a 530 or above on the math section of the PSAT/NMSQT. Spelling Bee

A Great Spelling Bee!

Congratulations to all of our students who participated in the Clifdale Middle School Spelling Bee. Our classroom winners competed in multiple rounds with stiff competition. Ultimately, eighth grader Daniela won our contest when she spelled "configuration" as our championship word. Another eighth grader, Romeo, came in a very close second to place as our first runner-up. Daniela will advance to the Regional Spelling Bee to compete for a chance to attend the national competition. More +

My Brother's Keeper Honors Dr. Little and Mr. Goode

This morning, members of My Brother's Keeper honored Dr. Susan Little and Mr. Rodney Goode for their help in the creation and establishment of their organization.

My Brother's Keeper is an initiative that came to District Three through a grant process. It addresses opportunity gaps to ensure that all young people can reach their full potential, focusing on entering the school day ready to learn, reading, graduating High School Ready, instilling strong values, and keeping kids on track.

Dr. Little and Mr. Goode, in addition to Mr. Dunlap, Mr. Conn, and Mr. Forney have helped make MBK a huge success at Clifale Middle and we are so grateful that these young gentlemen have such wonderful leaders and guidance!

Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Ms. Wyatt!

Clifdale Middle is proud to have Ms. Hillary Wyatt as our Teacher of the Year. Ms. Wyatt taught for nine years in the Low Country, Pee Dee, and Upstate regions of South Carolina. She joined Spartanburg School District Three two years ago, after relocating back to the area with her husband, an alumnus of District Three. Expressing great enthusiasm for teaching middle school language arts, Ms. Wyatt said, “My favorite thing about teaching ELA in middle school is getting students hooked on books. I love to see and hear them become excited over books that I have read or that they want me to read. Middle school seems to be a perfect fit for me!”

German Students Travel to Helen

German students enjoyed a field trip to Helen, Georgia, on Thursday, December 2. Approximately 70 students attended the field trip to the historic German town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They enjoyed learning about German architecture, shopping, exploring the town, and learning about the culture firsthand in a Bavarian wonderland. During this day-trip, the students were able to enjoy over five hours of cultural enrichment in Helen.

Congratulations to the Clifdale Middle football team! They are the Foothills Conference Division I Football 2021 Regular Season Champions! Last night, they were presented with the trophy by Superintendent Kenny Blackwood and several members of our District Three Board of Trustees: Chairman Chris Jolley, Vice Chairman Ami Odom, Eddie Dearybury, Don Kennedy, and Deion Logan.
The team will play again on Tuesday, October 26, against Gable at home. Come support the team as they play to keep their undefeated title!
