Spartanburg County School District Three celebrates unofficial passage results of Destination 3-1-1 Referendum
(Spartanburg, SC)- Following the release of the unofficial results from the Spartanburg County Voters Commission, on behalf of the Spartanburg County School District Three administration, staff and Board of Trustees, Superintendent Kenny Blackwood would like to thank the support of our communities for approving the Destination 3-1-1 Referendum.
“This is an exciting time for our district. We are about to change and improve the educational environment in our district, allowing us to revitalize each of our schools, most of which were built in the late 1970s,” Blackwood said. "We are so grateful to everyone who came out and voted."
This is also a win for our District Three taxpayers who will now notice a large tax cut on their homes, cars, boats and rental properties.
For complete transparency, a website will be designed on Spartanburg3.org to keep our
communities informed on how every dollar is allocated and spent, as well as documenting the improvements made at each school.
“We now begin the next chapters of District Three. Those chapters will include healing, growth and successes. Because of the votes from our constituents, we get to write these chapters together. I am so looking forward to the accomplishments of our communities and most importantly those of our students,” Vice Chairman Chris Jolley said. “We can’t thank the voters enough and we won’t let them down.”
We appreciate your trust and belief in our District Three schools and administration. This is a momentous time in our District Three history and we can’t wait to celebrate these next big steps ahead.
