Spartanburg County School District Three canceling all off-campus learning activities
Starting Monday, March 16, Spartanburg School District Three is canceling all off-campus learning experiences, including field trips. This is not a decision made lightly or a reason to panic; this is out of an abundance of caution to protect our students. As a district, we are confident in our ability to thoroughly deep-clean, disinfect and protect our students’ health in our buildings. However, we are not able to control, verify or influence outside businesses or buildings’ cleaning habits. Because our students’ safety is and will always be our top priority, that means taking drastic preventative measures for their health.
Your students’ principal will send home more specific details about rescheduling, postponing and/or refunds for these events.
As of right now, D3 schools remain open, as we continue to deep-clean and disinfect. There is no confirmed case or correlation to COVID-19 in our district.
If a member of a students’ household has traveled in an area of outbreak, has come into contact with someone who has been diagnosed with Coronavirus, or is diagnosed themselves with Coronavirus, families are urged to report this information to their child’s school immediately.
If you have more questions on what we’re doing as a District to keep our students safe, you can read about it here.
We will continue to update as we get more information.
Thank you for understanding,
Superintendent Kenny Blackwood
