Broome High School raises more than $1,500 for rival high school after death of Spartanburg High student
In less than 24 hours, Broome High School raised more than $1,500 dollars after the death of Nick Dixon, a Spartanburg High School student and football player.
Students wore hats, bought snacks and gave what they could to help raise money. Those donations will go to Dixon's family for funeral and medical expenses.
Principal Rodney Graves said, "Our studnts just wanted to say that we were thinking about them and praying for them and wanted to help out in a small way."
Dixon passed away Friday, January 11 from complications in surgery.
