Broome High School fishing anglers KJ Tessnier, Cole Jolley, Lawson Frady, and Adam Stacy won the high school division at the 2021 DNR State Youth Bass Fishing Championship at Clarks Hill Lake on Saturday with a total weight of 12.75 lbs.

KJ Tessnier and Cole Jolley finished first overall in the High School Individual Team category with a total weight of 12.75 lbs.

KJ Tessnier also won the tournament’s big fish award with 6.38 lbs!

Broome Middle School teams of Ian Brown, Trent Gregory, James Hayes & Ethan Brown also did a great job. Both boats caught their five fish limits and just missed the top three by ounces to finish fourth overall at the DNR state tournament.

Awards included: state trophy, rods, reels, plaques and two scholarships for $600 each.
