I am a 1989 cum laude graduate of Converse College with a BA in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. (I completed my student teaching experience at Cowpens Elementary School.) I graduated summa cum laude in 1999 with a M. Ed. in Elementary Education, and I am currently pursuing my Masters +30.
I have many years of experience teaching students of all ages. I was first employed as supervising teacher of the Early Preschool Program at SRMC Child Development Center from 1990 until my oldest son began kindergarten. I continued employment as a teacher with Union County Schools from 1995 until the birth of my second son. I served as an early childhood consultant at Mon-Aetna Child Enrichment Center after the birth of my third son until my husband and I relocated our family to Spartanburg. I was employed as an early literacy program coordinator with Union County First Steps and as an Early Learning Mentor/Coach with PCA Head Start before joining the District Three family in 2012. Occasionally, I teach undergraduate courses in the School of Education at USC Upstate and in the Early Care and Education Department at Spartanburg Community College.
