We are thrilled to be able to host the third annual Three for Three Honors Glow Run 5K! This year, the Glow Run 5K will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 8 pm at Broome High School.
Adults are $30 and children 12 and under are $15. You can register here.
This race is just one of many fundraisers held over the years in District Three to support a scholarship fund for our Gettys D. Broome High School seniors and was a huge hit in its first two years, with each race gathering more than 200 people.
Starting in 1993, Florence Moore, a teacher assistant in District Three, made it her goal to help students who wanted to further their education. For more than 20 years, she raised money to help provide scholarships, under the "Citizens for a Better Tomorrow Scholarship Fund" title.
Mrs. Moore was able to raise tens of thousands of dollars, all while battling several illnesses over the years. When she passed in March 2017, the scholarship committee changed the name to the Florence Moore Scholars Fund in her honor.
Since her passing, the Three for Three Honors committee has continued to raise money for District Three students, continuing her legacy and dream to help students afford college.
The Three for Three Honors Glow Run is a chance to build up the scholarship fund, which gives scholarships to 10 seniors each year on a merit and need basis.
