🏭 BMW Rising Scholars
We also recognized three students selected as BMW Rising Scholars: Jace Littlejohn, Edwin Cruz-Lopez, and Will McGuane.
This BMW initiative allows high school seniors to dedicate part of their day to hands-on training at the BMW Training Center, creating a potential pathway to future employment. Selection is highly competitive, making this accomplishment especially noteworthy!
🏈 South Carolina Assistant Football Coach of the Year
During our staff recognitions, we celebrated Coach Spencer Dearybury, who was named South Carolina Assistant Football Coach of the Year through the Broyles Award.
The award recognizes excellence in coaching, player development, and leadership at the high school and collegiate levels. Coach Dearybury serves as Associate Head Coach of Broome Football and teaches Physical Education and Strength Training at Broome High School.

💡 Bright Ideas Educator Grants
We were also proud to recognize eight D3 educators who received $1,000 Bright Ideas Educator Grants from Broad River Electric Cooperative!
The grants will help provide materials and support for innovative classroom projects.

⭐ STAR Seminar Recognition
We also recognized Dr. Stacy Fuentes, who was selected as one of just eight teachers in South Carolina to attend the 2026 Fall STAR Seminar.
The program recognizes and rewards outstanding veteran teachers. Dr. Fuentes will attend the seminar next month on Seabrook Island. Congratulations, Dr. Fuentes, on this well-deserved honor!
📐 South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference Speaker
We were also proud to recognize Mrs. Tonya McCullough, a fourth-grade teacher at Cannons Elementary School, who was selected to present at the 2026 South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM) Fall Conference in Myrtle Beach in November.
Being selected to present at a statewide professional conference is a wonderful reflection of Mrs. McCullough’s commitment to her students and her profession.
Last month, Mrs. McCullough was in Philadelphia after being selected as one of just 12 teachers from across the country to attend the Jack Miller Center’s National Summit on Civic Education as part of the Teaching America250 Awards.

🤝 Business Partner of the Month
Daniel Morgan Technology Center recognized The Timken Company and Mr. Timothy Boosz as its Business Partner of the Month.
Mr. Boosz encouraged DMTC to apply for a $100,000 grant from The Timken Foundation and graciously presented the check to DMTC over the summer.
But his partnership with DMTC represents much more than financial support. It is an investment in workforce development, career readiness, and the next generation of skilled professionals in Spartanburg County.
