Clifdale Middle students in Miss McDowell's classes participated in "TED Talks" this week. They each prepared presentations on a short story.
In addition to promoting critical thinking, the lesson provided an opportunity for students to work as a team and practice public speaking. Great job, Centurions!
Cowpens Elementary School 4th and 5th grade students delivered an exciting performance of "Santa Claus: A Wonderful Website Christmas" last night at District Three Community Auditorium! 🎄
The program told the story of Santa’s wildly popular new website becoming overwhelmed with emails - putting Christmas deliveries at risk - until one student’s selfless gift request helped restore Santa's gift log.

We are proud to share that, in less than two weeks, Broome High School students and staff donated 2,560 canned goods and raised $950 to support local food distribution efforts.
The initiative was a combined effort from Beta Club and Student Council, concluding with the Turkey Bowl powder puff game organized by Mrs. Cooksey.
This week, students distributed the canned goods to Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church and First Baptist Cowpens where they will help members of our communities.

Clifdale Middle's Holiday Fair is this Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm at the Clifdale Middle Gym! You can purchase arts and crafts from 50 vendors. All proceeds benefit student programs!

Mrs. Ivy Garner and Mrs. Ashlyn Taylor of Pacolet Elementary School shared their work on success criteria, while Mrs. Wanda Noblin and Mrs. Ashley Moore of Cowpens Elementary School highlighted the new math standards on probability.
We are proud of these exceptional educators, who were selected by the SCCTM committee to present at this statewide event.

Yesterday, Cannons Elementary School had the privilege of welcoming students from Wofford College’s Education 200 course. Their visit left students feeling inspired and excited about characteristics that make them special!
Under the leadership of Christie Johnson, Department Chair and Senior Instructor of Wofford’s Education Department, forty-eight of her students spent the semester studying the foundations of teaching and learning. Their culminating project brought them to Cannons.
Wofford students created their own lesson plans based on the book Because I Love Me, written by local author Cynthia Robinson. She opened the visit with a read-a-loud of her rhyming book. Afterward, Wofford students visited several classrooms to teach their hands-on, creative lessons promoting confidence.
They gifted each of those classrooms with a copy of the book.
Cannons Principal Mrs. Elizabeth Phillips and Mrs. Johnson, both proud Wofford College alumni, were excited to see this partnership in action.

This week, they learned how to play the steel drum from Artist-in-Residence Kimberly Roberts and memorized two songs! They also learned about the steel drum's Caribbean origins!🏝️

Mrs. Gilliam’s Clifdale Middle drama class brought careers to life through the school's first-ever Live Career Wax Museum! 🏛️
Students dressed in costumes representing their chosen professions and created presentations detailing the educational path, salary expectations, and top workplaces for their careers.
All Clifdale Middle students toured the museum during lunch and learned about a variety of career options.
