Thanks to our local state representatives for inviting our Girls and Boys State Champion Strength teams to be recognized today at the State House! What an amazing experience for our athletes and coaches!

Yesterday, Cannons Elementary School Principal Mrs. Phillips officially accepted the 2025-26 Palmetto's Finest Finalist Award on behalf of Cannons Elementary, accompanied by Assistant Principal Mrs. Kyle and D3 Superintendent Dr. Fowler.

This outstanding recognition is a credit to the hard work of our Cannons Elementary students, staff, and administrators!

Winners will be announced next month. Congratulations, Cannons Champions!

The Clifdale Middle Concert Band earned an Excellent rating at the SCBDA Concert Performance Assessment in Fort Mill! The band also received a Superior rating in Sight-Reading. Congratulations to all students and Clifdale Middle Band Director Mrs. Johnston!

We are proud to share that Dr. Nikki Honeycutt, Director of Daniel Morgan Technology Center, is the recipient of the 2026 Mary L. Thomas Award for Civic Leadership and Community Change!

Dr. Honeycutt received this prestigious award during last night's Spartanburg County Foundation Annual Meeting. Thank you, Dr. Honeycutt, for your leadership and for all that you do to help provide state-of-the-art opportunities for our students!

It is with mixed emotions D3 shares that Coach McManus, Head Boys Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at Broome High School, will be the new Athletic Director at Myrtle Beach High School in Horry County effective July 1, 2026. While we certainly understand and support his decision to be closer to family, his presence in our athletic programs, school, and community will be greatly missed.

Coach McManus has made a lasting impact on our student-athletes through his dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

During his tenure at Broome High School from 1999-2010, Coach McManus helped lead the boys basketball team to several championships, including three Regional Championships (2004, 2005, 2006), two Upper State Championships (2005, 2006), and a State Championship (2005).

Coach McManus returned to Broome High School as Athletic Director and Head Boys Basketball Coach in 2023. By February 2025, he helped lead the Centurions to another Regional Championship. In September 2025, McManus was named Region 3 AAA Athletic Director of the Year.

We wish Coach McManus nothing but the best in this next chapter and know he will continue to make a difference in the lives of students, athletes, coaches, and the school community in Myrtle Beach.

Today was Career Day at Cannons Elementary School! Students had the opportunity to learn about a variety of careers. Thanks to everyone who joined us!

Cowpens Elementary School 2nd- and 3rd-grade students did an outstanding job during their spring musical, On Safari: A Musical Journey Through the African Savannah!

Broome High School Bass Fishing and our middle school team competed over the weekend in the SCDNR state tournament — and our middle school anglers finished second in the state! 🥈
