Spartanburg School District Three

Cannons Elementary School 5th-grade Student Ambassadors and members of the school's student leadership team had the honor of joining South Carolina Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver this morning at Cowpens National Battlefield as she celebrated Constitution Day and significant academic achievement at Cannons Elementary School!

Last year, 4th-grade students at Cannons achieved a 71% Meets or Exceeds rate in ELA — a 3% increase from the previous year!

Superintendent Weaver established the "Superintendent's 75 Club," encouraging students and schools to achieve 75% or higher in both ELA and Math. Our Cannons Champions are well on their way!

This achievement is not possible without the dedicated staff at Cannons Elementary and the support of our students' families. Congratulations, Cannons Champions!

Cannons' school theme this year is "Born to Fly," and we know the sky is the limit!

During Superintendent Weaver's visit, students learned about the history of Cowpens National Battlefield and received a memorable tour from Park Rangers. They also had the chance to meet South Carolina Teacher of the Year, Mr. Corey Bedenbaugh.

Thank you, Superintendent Weaver, for sharing your time with our students, and helping make this such a memorable experience!

Clifdale Middle is ready for its first home football game of the season after an exciting pep rally! Kickoff is 5 pm at Royal Stadium!

Students at Pacolet Elementary School enjoyed their Summer Reading Fun Day last week!

The day gave students in grades 5K through 5th grade the opportunity to celebrate their summer reading through fun, book-inspired activities.

Students in 5K–2nd grade read Amelia Bedelia Means Business over the summer. They brought the story to life through creative building challenges, an interactive Story Walk, the “Sour Pants” lemonade toss, and cozy Campfire Reading.

Students in 3rd–5th grade read The Mouse and the Motorcycle over the summer. They enjoyed an exciting scavenger hunt, a “Mighty Rescue” challenge to help Ralph escape, and creative hotel brochures designed from Ralph’s perspective.

Great job, Panthers!
