Congratulations to Jeroboam Leiva, Aiden McAmish, and Coleman O’Dell! They will represent Broome High School at Palmetto Boys State this summer.
Each year, more than 1,000 rising seniors across the state are nominated by their high school teachers and counselors to be delegates or “citizens” at Boys State. Students nominated are interviewed and selected by the local American Legion Post. The program is considered to be as much about leadership training as it is an opportunity to learn about and participate in government and politics.

Palmetto Girls State is a one-week leadership and citizenship training program designed to educate outstanding high school students about state and local government.
Participants experience governmental procedure by simulating political campaigns, elections, and the political process. They also learn about the principles of citizenship and public service from guest speakers, expert panels, and staff members.
We are excited for Aughtry!

Students had the opportunity to explore careers in public service, gaining insight into both military and law enforcement pathways while getting a first-hand look at various equipment.
Tickets are $5. Performances will take place on April 23rd and April 24th at 6:00 pm at the District Three Community Auditorium!
Broome High School hosted its AVID Recognition Ceremony last night! Underclassmen AVID students received a certificate acknowledging completion of the AVID elective at their grade level, and seniors were awarded their stoles for graduation.

Broome High School Beta Club dedicated its spring project to the nonprofit organization Hope For Our Elderly. This organization helps provide essential items such as food, hygiene products, over-the-counter medication, and cleaning supplies to elderly individuals in Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union counties.
Broome Beta Club collected nonperishable food and snacks; more than 27 bottles of shampoo and conditioner; 30 boxes of toothpaste; more than 25 toothbrushes; 14 bottles of dish soap; and more than 30 packs of juice and protein shakes. Broome Beta Club also collected soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and disposable underwear.

Students even had the chance to perform their new school theme song from The Sound of Learning.
Cannons Elementary is in its third year as an ArtsNOW partner and has been an Arts in Basic Curriculum School since 2011. Great job, Champions!

The Broome High School Winterguard did an incredible job during their showcase last night at Spartanburg High School! They travel to Winthrop University tomorrow where they will compete for the 2026 Winterguard Championship. Let's go, Centurions!
Thanks to our local state representatives for inviting our Girls and Boys State Champion Strength teams to be recognized today at the State House! What an amazing experience for our athletes and coaches!
This outstanding recognition is a credit to the hard work of our Cannons Elementary students, staff, and administrators!
